ERIE CITY ELECT
STUDENT PARENTING PROGRAM
A GRANT FUNDED PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY ERIE'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR THE CITY OF ERIE
IN 2019 - 2020
Being a parent while finishing school can be overwhelming. We offer a variety of ways to support you, your decisions, and your needs.
Learning about your pregnancy and how to labor will prepare you for a healthy delivery.
Finding the best academic program and tutoring support to fit your needs as a parent is important.
Supporting you to create moments with your child helps them reach physical and social-emotional milestones .
Meeting with other parents going to school is a great way to share your successes and learn from each other.
Offering onsite labor and delivery coaching can help you reach your birthing goals.
The Student Parenting/ELECT Program is a voluntary program that helps parents, or those
expecting a child, and under the age of 22 years old obtain their high school diploma or equivalent.
Both male and female participants are provided with individualized services surrounding:
Basic Needs & Resources
Academic & Career Goals
Our grant funding is connected to the Erie County Assistance Office. Thus, we work together towards the following targeted outcomes which are measured annually by the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Human Services.
"Appreciate parenting while you have it because it really did help with graduating. Don’t take it for granted because it’s FREE and they help us go to school and be a parent at the same time. I know girls who dropped out because they didn’t know about parenting and didn’t have the help they needed."
